Coming up next: *February 24 – 28, 2012: I’ll be attending the Association of American Geographers meeting in New York City to present a paper as part of “markets and militaries” sessions, and also contribute to a roundtable discussion on postsecularism. After that, I plan to be at the Association for Asian Studies conference in Toronto (March 15 – 18), and then a workshop on researching Asia held at the National University of Singapore (June 5 – 6).

— —  — -
I welcome opportunities to speak about a range of topics, in a variety of formats. I can of course speak about my PhD work and ongoing research projects on the cultural politics of religion, political conservatism and religious fundamentalism, contemporary Korean/American evangelical missions, and ethnographies of empire.

And as a (relatively) long-time writer/artist/activist with nearly 20 years of experience, I would also be happy to give talks and lead workshops on topics such as Korean/American and Asian/American diaspora, anti-racist/feminist/queer activism, and organizing in the immigrant communities. Having worked as an information designer for many years, I use lots of visual materials and interactive formats to make the content accessible and interesting for a broad audience. For a full list of talks and presentations I’ve given over the years, please download the CV (PDF).
