The DEPARTMENT OF ASIAN STUDIES
University of British Columbia

is accepting applications for one 12-month lecturer position (1 year contract) in Korean language, commencing September 1, 2011 and ending August 31, 2012. The successful applicant will teach up to 24 credits of Korean Language and possibly Asia courses related to Korean language and/or culture, possibly from first- to fourth- year, over the calendar year as well as assist in program administration and development.

Applicants are required to have native or near-native fluency in Korean, a Master’s degree (or be near completion) in Applied Linguistics, Language Education, or TESOL/TESL, and relevant teaching experience at the college/university level in North America. Salary commensurate with experience.Please send applications, including a letter of interest, Curriculum Vitae, three names of reference, a videotape of a class taught, as well as a sample lesson plan (the lesson plan should be the First Day of Lesson 16 in King and Yeon’s “Continuing Korean”) no later than June 25th to:
