Assistant Professor in Comparative Religion
Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences
The University of Washington Tacoma seeks an intellectually expansive scholar with a Ph.D. in Comparative Religion, Philosophy or closely related field, possessing wide-ranging interests and demonstrating excellent teaching and research potential for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS). In exceptional cases candidates who are ABD may be appointed on an acting basis. In order to complement IAS‚s existing strengths in environmental science and global studies, an interest in Asian religions and social/cultural approaches to ethics and/or environmental science and technology are a plus. The position begins September 16, 2012 and is contingent on funding.
IAS offers a range of innovative interdisciplinary majors. We welcome applicants representing diverse perspectives and approaches.
