[App] Postdoc in Korean Studies, University of Hawai`i at Manoa

The Center for Korean Studies at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship for the academic year 2016-2017. The fellowship is funded by a grant from the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS), South Korea. The grant is to promote Korean Studies internationally in higher learning institutions. The Center for Korean Studies and it’s Core Executive Committee is woking towards expanding the UH’s curriculum with Korean focused courses and expanding its Korean Studies Outreach Activities.

The Fellow is expected to conduct research on modern or contemporary Korean history, North Korea, or relevant topics. Publications developed or published while funded on this grant need to acknowledge the Academy of Korean Studies.
The Fellow is also expected to be in residence at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa to participate actively in the intellectual life of the Center for Korean Studies.

Minimum Qualifications

The applicant should hold a Ph.D. by August 1, 2016, should have not received the degree more than five years prior. Fields of study should be in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or related fields.

Desirable Qualifications

Ability to speak, read and write both in English and Korean at a professional working proficiency.
