Three-year renewable full-time lectureship in Korean language, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks applicants for a three-year renewable full-time lectureship in Korean language (six courses per year) beginning in fall 2012. The successful candidate will be prepared to offer courses in elementary, intermediate, and advanced Korean language.

The selected applicant will be a joint appointee in the Five College Korean Language Program and will be based in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. Joint appointees normally teach on more than one campus. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English. The academic field of specialization should be in a field of language education such as TESOL or linguistics and education. Ph.D. preferred, master’s degree required as is at least one year of experience teaching Korean at a college-level institution.
